Bill
Medley
Born in Los Angeles and
raised in Orange County’s Santa Ana, Medley always had a passion for
music, but he sort of stumbled upon it as a career after he quit school at
age 16. His father led a big band and played saxophone, his mother played
piano and sang. Naturally, Medley gravitated to glee club and amateur
singing contests during his youth, but it wasn’t until he heard the music
of Ray Charles that the idea of making music for a living coalesced. “When
I heard Ray Charles, it wasn’t so much that I wanted do that,” he
reflects. “It was that I needed to do that.” Medley taught himself
to play piano, which led to writing songs, and he figured
songwriting—rather than performing—would be his key to a career in music.
But when he peddled his songs to other singers and musicians, they
invariably declined to do them. “They would hear me sing, and say, ‘What
about you?’ That was basically why I became a singer.” Medley formed a
local group called The Paramours, and was introduced to Hatfield, who led
The Variations. But one night they put their voices together, and the
result was magic. “We just started singin’ these rhythm & blues duets, and
it was just absolutely instant,” Medley recalls. “Never had to rehearse
it. He knew ‘em, I knew ‘em—‘I’ll sing this note, you sing on top,’ and
that was it. The instant we sang together, it was like one voice.” Their
partnership lasted four decades, though Medley explored his solo options
apart from the duo on occasion. He went on his own in the late-‘60s for
six years. In 1976, following the death of his wife, he pulled back from
the music business to raise his son, eventually doing another solo stint
in the early-‘80s. Plus, he demonstrated his versatility by joining forces
with another duet partner, Jennifer Warnes, on the chart-topping song from
“Dirty Dancing,” “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life,” which came up a winner
at the Grammys, the Oscars and the Golden Globes. As Medley segues
into a new portion of his career, he’s also performed duets publicly on
occasion with his daughter, McKenna, who has her own show in Las Vegas.
But he has no plans to find another permanent singing partner. Instead,
Medley expects to strike out one more time on his own, with the stage
serving as a safety net from which he’s still able to make a
connection—with the fans who continue to adore both The Righteous Brothers
and Medley’s powerful bass, but also with his own passion for music.
Not that his rare gift makes him any different from the people who inhabit
the audience. |

Don Hill
Saxophonist & singer with
The Treniers, who are
unquestionably one of the first (if not the first),
self-contained REAL ROCK AND ROLL groups, ever. They are also
probably the greatest living entertainers in showbiz today. Among
some very gifted peers, they stand out as the only pioneering Jump
Blues stylists to not only thrive when the rest of the world caught
up with this Rock'n'Roll stuff (some ten years after they started
it) but also to continue to thrive in the ensuing decades as a
successful, and far from sedate, lounge act. The group has survived
the ever-changing cycle of disposable pop culture trends thrown
their way not in spite of their resistance to change, but because of
it. By upholding traditions thought long gone by many, and by
keeping it lively, The Treniers' performances are just as vital and
hypnotizing today as they were in the era when they helped to create
Rock'n'Roll. I'd like to think that they've been having too much fun
to fully realize this. |

Frankie
Scinta A
musical prodigy, who was given his first instrument — a guitar — at
the age of four by his grandfather, Joe Scinta. He eventually added
mandolin and banjo, as well as drums and bass to his repertoire. His
talent was quickly noticed and he began appearing locally. Before he
was a teenager, he’d been seen playing the banjo nationally on Ted
Mack’s Original Amateur Hour, The Merv Griffin Show and Jerry Lewis’
MDA telethon. When he
saw the film The Godfather he returned home, sat down at the piano
and, without the music in front of him, played the movie’s theme song.
Today, it is Frankie’s keyboard artistry that stops the show at every
performance.
By
the time he was 12, Frankie had also added another person to his act —
younger sister
Chrissi. A few
years later they were joined by their oldest brother
Joey and,
today, they are Las Vegas headliners.
Frankie
Scinta and his wife have a son, Frank Jr., and two daughters —
Danielle and Maria. If you see him offstage, you’re likely to see him
with his sidekick, Buddy Love, a Maltese given to him by Wayne Newton.

Gary Anderson
Whether it is the music of CNN, the Theme from ABC's World News This
Morning or 20/20, Larry King's Opening music or the Theme from Bart's
favorite TV program, "The Itchy & Scratchy Show" - GA's music has been
heard around the globe on virtually every major broadcast and cable
television network for over three decades. From the seriousness of
ABC, CBS and CNN News to the irreverence of animation legend, Ralph Bakshi's Zootoons on the Cartoon Network from the fictional drama of
daytime soaps on ABC, NBC and CBS to the all too real drama of the
PBS/Ted Turner documentary, "Avoiding Armageddon" - from the agony and
ecstasy of ABC's "Wide World of Sports" to the mystery of The Mind on
PBS, GA (aka Gary Anderson) has been THERE. And NOW... GA is HERE !!!
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Gary began
his musical career as a full time professor at the world-renowned
school. While on the faculty, Gary is also very proud to have been a
member of the Berklee Faculty Saxophone Quartet, which included
mentors Joe Viola and John LaPorta as well as Dr Harry Drabkin. Gary
put his teaching assignments aside for a while and joined Woody
Herman's "Thundering Herd" -- soon becoming the chief arranger and
music director for the acclaimed orchestra. Tours and recordings with
Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Carmen McRae and dozens more
culminated in a star studded "40 Anniversary Concert" at Carnegie
Hall. Upon leaving the road life, Gary decided to settle in New
York City and focus on a career in arranging and orchestrating for
Broadway, Television & Film, working with composers such as Marvin Hamlisch, Charles Gross, Vinette Carroll & Charles Strouse to name but
a few. Work in network and cable television soon followed and
continues to this day as Gary maintains studios in NY & Las Vegas.

 John
& Pam Thompson
The Great Tomsoni & Co. tackle the audience
with magic hokum-pokum. Tomsoni, who delivers his spoken accents in fake
Polish, comes clean with mostly pantomime as tricks work to his
surprise. His company is wife Pamela, and both have been presenting one
of the funniest magic acts for years. . Tomsoni does manage to
mystify between his quirky mannerisms, producing numerous white doves
fluttering from scarves and even out of a clear plastic square. Partner
Pamela, meanwhile, supplies him with gadgets as the dumb, putupon,
blond, gum-chewing assistant. She's a perfect foil.
He switches from pantomime to standup comedian, mouthing crazy sound
effects within funny phone monolog. The "Babushkas from Warsaw" finale
has Thomsoni frantically pulling dozens of knotted scarves from a hollow
silver tube, and going on and on until he bunches the material together
and - presto - out pops a bowling ball... 'Variety' |

John
Garafalo
has delighted audiences locally and all over the world. His
versatile style of singing and beautiful tenor voice has taken him to

Hudson, NY, to performances throughout New York's Albany Capital
District, concert tours to England's most prestigious Cathedrals, and
tours in Germany, and Poland, John has encompassed a great variety of
memorable performances. In recent years, John has taken a turn from
strictly classical fare, to the world of ‘cross over’ extending his
repertoire into the Broadway, jazz and classic standards genre. In both
Europe and the United States, John has given enjoyment to audiences with
these entertaining and inspiring shows. His appearances at Italian
Festivals, presenting stirring operatic excerpts and melodic Italian
Neapolitan songs, and his personalized shows, encompassing the

Keely Smith
The mid-'90s lounge music revival has come and gone, the music of Louis
Prima has been used to sell khaki pants, but--strangely enough--vocalist
and Prima ex-wife Ms. Smith has remained relatively quiet. Until now. With
the appropriately titled Swing, Swing, Swing, Keely proves she still has
the perfect timing, pitch, and vocals that she had on those classic
collaborations with Prima Smith starts with a lively medley of "When
You're Smiling" and "The Sheik of Araby," does Prima favorites "Jump,
Jive, An' Wail" and "Robin Hood," and includes plenty of unique numbers
she can call her own (just check out "Keely's Boogie"). "Yeah, Yeah,
Yeah," "Yata Hei," and the album's title track are some highlights--upbeat
numbers where the 17-piece Frankie Capp Orchestra provide the jazzy energy
of Keely Smith's old bandleader, Billy May. --Jason Verlinde |
